2020-21 Competition Description 

Celebrating High School Innovators has many oppourtunities to help elevate students. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering our competition in a digital only format, and are able to use this oppourtunity to provide more awards to students.

Main Competition: 

All teams video’s and 1,500 word essays will be evaluated by our judging panel. From there, we will determine the top teams, which will be invited to a live Q&A session over Zoom with our judges where they will ask questions and further clairification. We will then make the determination on the top 5 teams. The top 5 teams are awarded in no particular order, and each winning team will receive $1000. This event will take place in March. The Main Competition on November 16th and/or 17th will be live streamed on the CHSI YouTube and Facebook. 

Best Video: 

We will be awarding the Best Video Award to a team who’s video stands out against the rest. We will be awarding $500 to the winning team. We will be judging based on the following criteria. We will not be judging based upon the amount of or quality of technology available, but rather, the use of the technology you have. 

  1. Inclusion of all team members
  2. Use of time 
  3. Product demostrations 
  4. Passion demonstrated 
  5. Thought and organization

We will be announcing the winner of the video on November 16th. 

People’s Choice:

The People’s Choice Awards is a competition among all teams, and is done via public polling. Eacg team will be given a link to send to their family, friends, and community to vote. The team with the most votes will win $500.
